Dr. Michael Gutierrez has been
practicing dermatology in Central Florida for more than 20 years. A
member of Mid-Florida Dermatology Associates, Dr.
Gutierrez received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the
University of New Orleans before completing his medical degree at
Louisiana State University Medical School.
Dr. Gutierrez decided to specialize
in dermatology because it allows him to practice both surgery and
general medicine. From 2000 to 2003, he served as chief of dermatology
at Florida Hospital and is currently on staff at Orlando Regional
Medical Center.
While at Louisiana State
University, Dr. Gutierrez studied under the head of the dermatology
department, Dr. Jolly, and received the Peterkin Award for Outstanding
Resident Research Projects as well as a Continuing Medical Education
Award from the American Academy of Dermatology. Today he is a member of
a number of professional organizations including the American Academy
of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the Central Florida
Society of Dermatology and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.
At Mid-Florida Dermatology, they
know that skin care is not just skin deep. The center offers a medical
spa with specialty skin care treatments as well as services such as
Botox cosmetics, mole checks and skin cancer screenings, acne
treatments and treatments for skin conditions like psoriasis, rosacea,
eczema and warts.
Dr. Gutierrez is board certified in
both dermatology and dermatological surgery and advises all of his
patients to stay out of the sun and use sunscreen. While at the office
he is normally found performing skin cancer treatments and other
dermatological surgeries, in his spare time he enjoys hanging out with
his dog, Max, and keeping in shape by either exercising or enjoying a
game of golf.
Dr. Gutierrez’s skin care advice: “Stay out of the sun and use sunscreen.”
